Port of Ana Chaves（Porto de Ana Chaves）
The geographic location of Sao Tome and Principe has always been considered strategic for both air and sea routes between Africa, Europe and America.
The Country’s Port System is centered on the port of Ana Chaves, located in an bay opened to the NE, relatively well sheltered from the dominant agitation, which has pathways from the S and SW, near the city of S.Tomé, district of Água Grande. It was built at the end of the 50s, and has a pier of about 200 meters with a guaranteed depth of 3 meters at low tide and about 100 meters with depths between 1 and 3 meters, which ensures commercial trading (except fuel) with the outside and the rest of the archipelago.
