Portuguese Speaking Countries
Owing to historical, lingual and cultural factors, Macao has traditionally been playing the role as a link and a Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, maintaining broad cultural and economic liaison and co-operation with nine Portuguese-speaking countries, covering a total population of 260 million. They are Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Portugal and Timor-Leste.
The nine Portuguese-speaking countries are mainly located in Africa, apart from Portugal in Europe, Brazil in South America and Timor-Leste in Asia, possessing abundant agricultural, marine, mineral resources and energy.
